Part of the ethical storytelling process is to represent young girls with dignity and respect – like Joy from the Philippines and Vicky from Uganda. In the past, only people of influence and affluence were ever considered to sit for portraits. I wanted to challenge this thinking and use my skills to capture these girls as people of significance, for that is who they are.

I completed both illustrations digitally, using an apple pencil. These illustrations were gifted and printed along with the professional photography taken on the story capture trips as an additional thank you for sharing their stories.
